12-th Anniversary

April 1st 2021

This is not a prank!!!
Flying Wild Hogs is actually celebrating its 12th birthday today.
Like for real. No lie.

1st of April, aka April Fools, aka “prank day”. It’s the day that every troublemaker, rascal, bad boy, and bad girl looks forward to. And the best part is – most of the pranks that you pull off can be justified by screaming “April fools!” (please note the most part. Ringing someone’s doorbell – acceptable. Draining brake fluid in your dad’s car – not so much. Please, use your common sense). So in general, April Fools is a celebration of all forms of tomfoolery. And it’s also the day that Flying Wild Hogs came to life. Coincidence? Or maybe a sign. Anyway, I digress. With us celebrating our 12th year anniversary, it’s time to look back on what we’ve done over the last year. Ladies and gentlemen, let’s get emotional up in here.

First up, the party itself. Tonight, as it is the sign of the times, we are having a virtual party on good old Zoom. We are expecting about 300 people to join the chat at once, so it should be really fun and loud! And as fun as that will be, we are missing our physical parties BIG TIME, as they are quite legendary my friend. Tonight we are doing a company-wide quiz night during which our people can win a PS5 or a Nintendo Switch – along with other cool gizmos too. We are expecting a fierce battle! And finally, we will head to the afterparty (on Zoom as well), and just hang out and spend some time with each other.

And now, a quick summary of the year that we had. So, the biggest challenge that we faced is the same one as everyone else. I’m not going to write too much about the whole pandemic thing, but it has been a tough year, both emotionally and mentally, and sometimes physically too. No matter where you are, hope that you’re doing ok. And don’t be too tough on yourself. After all, there is a pandemic on there. Now that we got the sad things out of the way, let’s get into the good stuff! And boy, did we have some good stuff this year….

First up, Shadow Warrior 3 was announced! Yes, your favorite Wang is back, and not only is he better, stronger, and all that marketing talk stuff, he has a new sidekick. And would you believe it, it’s his arch enemy Zilla! So if his arch-enemy is his sidekick, who is the arch-enemy? Do you ask? That’s a good question, my friend. All will be revealed at the right time, at the right place, and most likely on Steam.

This year, we also revealed a whole new IP. What’s an IP you ask? Well, that’s just a fancy way of calling a whole new game. You see, the gaming world is filled with marketing, business people, and just people in suits. They use fancy words to make themselves look good. And lately, those guys in suits started wearing t-shirts, so that they can blend in with the rest of us. So does that make people in t-shirts the new suits? Probably. It also means that I should probably start wearing a suit, just so people can tell that I’m that cool quirky down to earth guy. But yes, we have announced a whole new game called Evil West. Without getting too much into detail here, you will play as Jesse, you are in the Old Wild West, you have vampires and vampire-like creatures and such coming at you, and you use the power of your guns to diplomatically tell them that you are the alpha male in the room. Trust me, it’s gonna be good.

We have also released a game called Devloverland Expo on Steam – for free! I know, it’s nuts! We are also working on a new project with Jagex, and we have a fourth unannounced project in the works too!

So, now let’s all stand up, raise our glasses, and make a toast. It’s speech time! To all our employees – thank you, thank you, thank you for being the best damn dev team any studio could ask for. Just when we think that something is impossible, that something can’t be done, you come in, work your charm and magic, and BAM! – you’ve made the impossible possible. So thank you for being part of our extended Flying Wild Hog family. Without you, there would be no us.

And finally, the last thank you of the toast. This is the big one. And you know who it’s going to? That’s right, it’s going to you. Thank you for being this super-awesome fan, like really, you are fantastic! Your encouragements, comments, and feedback, it’s what a dev dreams of. Thank you for having faith in us. We are doing it all for you.

So, until next time, take care of yourself and go easy on the pranks.

All the best,

Your Flying Wild Hog Anonymous Team Member

P.S. Since it’s our birthday, we have to let you on a little secret. Here’s some more info about our next upcoming project.
